Cooling food for the summer
Blazing sunshine, insane heat, the air like melted glass, a lot is demanded of the body in summer. The heat causes Pitta, one of the three doshas in Ayurveda, to rise. Then it is particularly important to follow the natural inclinations of the body and to adapt the activities and diet to the circumstances.
You don’t develop a proper appetite in hot weather. It is difficult to be physically efficient or mentally active. This has to do with the increase in Pitta. When that happens, the body reduces the inner fire, also called agni, to balance. This agni reduction reduces the heat build-up, slows down the metabolism and thus reduces the digestive power. 1. Eat Lighter Food:
Light food is the first choice at high temperatures. There are cucumbers, zucchini, pumpkins, carrots, asparagus, broccoli and cauliflower, but also basmati rice, ghee, cottage cheese, almonds, olive oil, coconut oil and fruits.
2. Avoid Pitta Dishes:

4. Eat Only When Hungry:
A good tip is to listen to your own body and not ignore signals. You should only eat if you are really hungry. But then only in moderation, because otherwise the body has a hard time digesting and becomes sluggish.
5. Avoid Cold Drinks:
